CREATIVE CONSULTANCY

Case Study - EXHALE ALCOHOL FREE

When Exhale Alcohol Free were given the chance to present their alochol free cocktail bar and mushroom-infused beers at a pop-up event in Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre they recognised this was an opportunity to connect with a wider and different audience than before. With my creative consultancy and batch content creation services, they refined their messaging to attract mainstream customers and enhance their professional image.

PLANNING & IDEATION

We started by looking at how Exhale was using marketing and social media. We found that they didn’t have a clear brand voice or identity. This was because they were doing the work in-house and it was part of their daily routine. So, we came up with a plan to make branding and marketing more professional. This plan could be used to get ready for the Bullring opportunity, but it could also be used on its own after that. We realised that having a consistent voice and visuals was important.

Brand style guides were produced for Exhale. These laid out how the brand should talk to people in the future. They made sure to think about who the target audience was and how to make the brand more appealing to a mainstream audience. Importantly, the guide fixed things like inconsistent fonts and colours. It also highlighted the importance of avoiding certain niche words and visuals because they were too specific and didn’t appeal to everyone.

Photography & Videography

To make Exhale look more professional, we conducted photography and videography over a few days. We took pictures and videos of the alcohol-free cocktail bar, interviewed the founders, and filmed the beers in a studio. Then, we made social media posts to use before the Bullring event and as templates for future posts. Finally, we did another photography and videography day to capture the event at the Bullring and make videos of games and competitions happening.

RESULTS

By combining my creative consultancy and photography and videography services Exhale were able to hit the ground running at the Bullring with a professional social media presence which was tailored to their ideal customer. Posts from the event then encouraged followers to attend, making it a success by introducing the brands to a new audience. By using the brand guidelines, and the created content as templates for future use, Exhale can now ensure they continue present themselves in this way when producing content in-house.
